    1 Since we were denied an rsync resource (the least impact as far as bandwidth goes), we set up a mirror script. To be nice, we tried to use HEAD requests whenever possible (but quite a few directories do not have index.html files, making HEAD requests impossible). The Jenkins job ran twice a day:

    5 Unfortunately, this was still too much and we were asked to download a ''.tgz'' file with the complete files every single night. Not very bandwidth-friendly, but I guess that it at least impacts the work load of certain administrators in at most a negligible way.

    7 So change the mirror yet again (from the first, shell-script based solution on pacific to the Beanshell one for less DOSing to the rsync-based which was invalidated when imagej.nih.gov moved to another machine to the Java-based one we had previously).
